If you suddenly think whether to make a mobile version of the site on a subdomain like m.site, then we recommend to abandon this idea. The official recommendation from Google says that it should be one domain with desktop and mobile layout.
Today distinguish 4 types of layout, which of them is obsolete, and which we recommend to implement on your site, we will understand below.
The very outdated layout, when the width of the content is rigidly set for all devices in pixels. Usually its size is determined by the resolution of the most common screens 800×600, 1024×768, etc. However, even to this day, you can still find large websites whose mobile users are grumbling.
In this type of layout, the page is stretched based on the size across the width of the browser. If the parent container is expanded by the same width, the page elements are increased, and vice versa if they are reduced. What a principle is such a name.
Purely rubber layout is obsolete, because it works on one type of device, and on too large or small resolutions does not work.
Adaptive is close to responsive (about it below) and works on the basis of media queries that adapt content to different devices and screen resolutions. The user does not participate in the process, everything is automatic.
The difference from responsive is that the page “bounces” on preset templates, adjusting the content point by point to the parameters of the device and screen.
To realize this method is a little more difficult than adaptive, as it is essentially a mix between adaptive and rubber layout. The loading of elements depending on the width of the screen and device changes constantly. Thus, no matter what the resolution is, the responsive layout always looks right, because the layout does not “jump” on the control points, but moves smoothly over them.
Responsive is the most labor-intensive option, a stable solution, one can say “for centuries”. It will look adequate on any devices and monitors. You don’t need to test cross-browsing for a long time to make sure it looks fine everywhere. With the advent of new screens, your site will display correctly even on them.
But you should keep in mind that adaptive is also a good solution in your situation: it’s faster and cheaper to make and if you only need a few basic resolutions and devices, it’s your option.
With adaptive and responsive, the pages of the site will look adequate on all devices. If you see a discrepancy on adaptive, however, it’s easy to correct.
Price adaptive layout of the site from $1,000.
